On June 8th, World Oceans Day, CBC’s Kathryn Marlow interviewed wild Pacific halibut fisherman and marine conservationist, Tiare Boyes as she was onboard the Borealis in Hecate Strait off Haida Gwaii, BC.

Via satellite phone, Kathryn spoke with Tiare about wild Pacific halibut’s MSC certification, the historical development of the fishery, fishery management measures, effects of conservation, how COVID has impacted their fishing operation this season, and her love for the ocean!
